Welcome!
The Blosser Home for Women is a home in every sense of the word. Established in 1932, the Blosser Home is a warm and cheerful residence for mature women who find that they would like a bit of help in managing their home and nutritional needs or who prefer to live in community with others.
At the Blosser Home, we make every effort to accommodate the needs of each resident and treat them as an individual. We allow the freedom of coming and going as each resident wishes. We even have staff to assist with private parties or gatherings of family and friends that our residents may desire. There is a delightful sunroom, terrace, formal dining room and family room available to relax and enjoy visitors or simply rest for a quiet evening.
We ask that residents are relatively self-sufficient in their personal hygiene and self-care, and we do ask that they be able to walk up and down a flight of stairs. For their own safety, residents must be able to ambulate out of the building in the case of an emergency. We do, however, make every effort to accommodate those who use a cane or walkers, on the first level. In the interest of safety, residents’ medications are kept in secured storage and are dispensed as prescribed and as necessary.
We welcome your application (for yourself or on behalf of a loved one). Upon acceptance, new residents pay a $3,000 entrance fee. Monthly rent varies by room type but is considered “reasonable” by today’s housing standards. Rent covers housing and food costs, plus activities and amenities. Additional fees may apply for those desiring private cable TV or phone services.
If you or a loved one might be interested in living at the Blosser Home, we invite you to visit with us to see for yourself what a delightful homecoming it can be.
